HEARTWORM AWARENESS MONTH!
April is heartworm awareness month - As we start to experience these warmer days those pesky mosquitos come out as well! All it takes it one bite from a mosquito carrying heartworm to infect your furry friend at home.
There are multiple types of mosquitos, ranging from mosquitos that are out during the day, and at night that carry heartworm, so it is important to keep your animals protected regardless of the time of day they are outside.
Although we can eliminate adult heartworms from infected dogs, some pathology becomes irreversible, leading to lifelong disease. This is why prevention of the disease is so important.
Talk to one of our team members today if your dog AND/OR cat currently isn't being protected against heartworm. www.OrilliaPetHospital.com
